Secure http or https was created specifically for log-in pages for banking, forms, corporate log ons, and other applications in which data needs to be secure.  The additional encryption requirement within https makes it a more secure option than http -- though not all uri/url can communicate within the https requirement so may default back to http.

Https is not perfect, continue to be wary about accepting questionable certificates and cautious with personal information while using the Internet.

]]> <![CDATA[Evolve Systems Telephone Upgrade]]> We are excited to be upgrading our internal telephone system tonight.  While our phone system is being customized to match our clients needs we have been informed our system may be temporarily down.

]]> <![CDATA[Important: Hosting Facility Issue]]> Evolve Systems has been informed that there is an issue that is going on at our hosting facility on the East Coast. This issue is not related to our servers, but is slowing down our connections to the data center itself. There are technicians working on the issue right now and we will keep our customers informed as this situation develops.  Please know that everything is being done to bring the data circuts back in line with normal operation.

UPDATE:

At 2:03 the Data Center was able to re-route the traffic to a new set of circuts and traffic has returned to normal. This issue did not affect any of our servers or the data center itself, just the traffic being routed to and from the data center.

Important Reminder

Auto-Generated SEO Settings

 

 

If your website was built on an Amiro CMS platform, we have an important reminder for you. Otherwise, you may disregard this email.

 

Amiro CMS boasts an auto-generated SEO (Search Engine Optimization) feature. This feature pulls data from your site and makes it easier for your audience to find you based on common search terms, or keywords. It also feeds this data to search engines to help improve your site's rankings.

 

Please be advised that this feature is the default setting on your site. Unless you indicate otherwise, the system will automatically generate this content.  While this is a helpful tool for some, others who manage their own SEO need to be careful so that your manual SEO work is not altered:

 

Scenario: One morning, you enter some great content into the "Options and SEO" tab of your "About Us" page and save your changes. Later on, you return to the Site Manager and make other changes to the "About Us" body content, but do not change anything under the "Options and SEO" tab itself. Once you save your changes, the auto-generated SEO feature will be enabled and your previous SEO content from that morning may be altered by the system.

 

Solution: If at any time you do not want your SEO content to be altered, you must make a change specifically in the "Options and SEO" tab if you are updating the main page content. A change can be as simple as - add a comma, save, delete the comma, save. This will override the auto-generated SEO feature.

Alternative: The auto-generated SEO feature can be turned off entirely. Log in to the back end of your website and enter the Site Manager. On the top left corner, you will see a button that looks like tools labeled "Options of module". In the pop-up screen, scroll down to "SEO settings". The first setting is called "Keywords and title generate mode". Click on "Auto", and select the "Off" option from the drop-down menu.

]]> <![CDATA[How to export user data in an X-Cart]]> 2) For older versions of X-Cart, in the 'Administration' menu, on the left hand side, click the 'Import/Export' link. For newer versions, the 'Import/Export' link is in the 'Tools' menu.
3) Click 'Export data' link in the section menu at top
4) Select delimiter for CSV file; a semicolon should work
5) Leave 'Data rows per file' blank.
6) Images do not matter
7) Forward slash will work for 'category path separator...'
8) Check 'USERS' in the list of data types
9) Click 'Export' button
10) Once the page finishes refreshing and comes back to the export options page, scroll to the bottom. There, you should find a list of exports. Look for the most recent one, which should be the top.
11) Download the file by clicking on it

The file created is a CSV file. These should be compatible with Excel and Open Office calc, although you may have to select the delimiter when you open it up (it would be the same as selected in step 4). If you do not have a spreadsheet program to read the file, you can download and use for free 'Excel Viewer' (http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=10) or 'Open Office' (http://openoffice.org). Excel Viewer is very small and fast, but does not provide editing capabilities. Open Office is a complete office document package (much in line with Microsoft Office), robust with features, but is a very large download.

For marketing purposes, you may want the list of emails. Once you have the export file in a spreadsheet view, the 28th column (Column 'AB') should have the emails in it. You should be able to click the column header to select the whole column and copy it if need be.]]>
